Program MEETS and EXCEDES National Fire Protection Association 1006 and 1670 Standards
This course is SPECIFICALLY ENGINEERED for first responders (ex. Police, Fire, EMS) It is a tiered Operational and Technician level program. If your jurisdiction has any body of water (Ex. bay, lake ocean, ponds) this PROGRAM IS A MUST! Students will learn the fundamentals and skills in open water rescue. This course is evolution based and centered around the needs and skill sets of YOUR agency. Safety is at the forefront of our program and all techniques are taught with care for both the rescuer and victim. Students will be evaluated on operational and technical skills. Students in this course will be participating as role players.
Students will be proficient with the standard skills sets. This program offers a baseline standard of training operations. All participants are REQUIRED to participate and complete swim portion of instruction.
Hosting agency is responsible for classroom and obtaining pool location for instruction (conditions permitting can instruct in open water setting)
Open Water Safety Awareness (OWSA-1)

Program MEETS and EXCEDES National Fire Protection Association 1006 and 1670 Standards
Open Water Surface Awareness Course is designed to introduce emergency services personnel who respond to water related emergency’s and incidents. From initial dispatch to end of call accountability. This course helps develop a baseline for all rescuers arriving on scene.
This Awareness Level program is a classroom session only please refer to our other programs for Operations and Technician level instruction.
Rescue Watercraft Course (RWC-1)

This course is an Operational and Technician level program. Students will learn fundamentals and build upon skills in operating rescue watercraft. The course is built with safety at the forefront.
Required Equipment
***Boating Safety Certificate (State Boating License) or NASBLA Equivalent***
Helmets, US Coast Guard Approved PFD (Type II or III) Wetsuit or Drysuit
(Conditions permitted) Foot protection
Optional Equipment:
Fins, Throw rope, Rescue tube, gloves
Hosting agency responsible for classroom and obtaining location for instruction
(conditions permitting)
Wall Certification presented upon successful completion of course
