Our History

Black Bay Training Group was founded by Paul Vereb, who began his journey an ocean lifeguard. Paul moved on to a career in Law Enforcement where he has been for over 18 years.
Paul became the founding instructor for his Police Department’s agencies Water Rescue Program. Later he started a Rescue Watercraft Program for both his agency and beach patrol.
Currently Paul is in charge of instructing full-time and part-time employees in the essential skills needed for water rescue. His instruction is pertinent for keeping all personnel safe in a water environment.
He also instructs trainees in the water safety training course at his local police academy.
In his career Paul has over 60 water related rescues. Through close relationships and the ever changing environment of emergency services Paul continues to develop, evolve, and refine his programs since their implementation.

Our Mission

We explain the WHY? We adapt and overcome any and all obstacles. You learn not by a cookie cutter generic program that others teach but by one that is broken down tailored to the specific needs of your agency.
Your members will first learn though classroom instruction. Next the topics covered classroom portion is then reenforced by a scaling progression in the field where safety is at the forefront. All trainings we instruct are NFPA Regulation Compliant.
Our main purpose for each program that participants exit with the knowledge and competency in the field. Our trainers have years of experience and instruct with the purpose to go home at the completion of your shift.
We provide solutions that make a difference.
